The health of a community and its residents is a collaborative effort.
One in which all parties contribute to and share responsibility for its protection, improvement and ongoing care. Hutchinson Health takes a leading role in advocating for better health for our patients and the surrounding community.
Hutchinson Health is committed to providing the community with ongoing opportunities for personal and professional growth, paying close attention to promoting healthy attitudes and continuing education. The more we can improve health knowledge and engage the community, the more we have to offer in terms of exceptional healthcare at our facility and in the lives of those we touch.

Ways You Can Help
From teens to seniors, from business professionals to retirees, our donors and volunteers encompass all walks of life and all income levels, each with something unique to offer.
Our diverse group of donors and volunteers has one thing in common: the desire to enhance health care in their community.
The Hutchinson Health Foundation serves as the connection between Hutchinson Health and our family of charitable donors. Every gift helps achieve extraordinary possibilities by enriching lives, saving lives and transforming patient care.
To keep advancing, we need your support — because the help you give now will help ensure the best health care will be there when it’s needed for you or someone you love.

The Hutchinson Health Auxiliary was formed in 1958. Currently the Auxiliary has over 500 members with 250 active volunteers. The Auxiliary donates approximately 23,500 hours of service each year. Since 1958, the Auxiliary has donated over $1.9 million of its proceeds to Hutchinson Health.
Hutchinson Health Auxiliary operates two businesses; The Thrift Shop, and The Gift Shop. These businesses are staffed by Auxiliary volunteers and all profits stay locally to benefit the patients of Hutchinson Health.
The Hutchinson Health Auxiliary Thrift Shop is located at 25 N Main Street, just a quarter of a mile south of the intersection of Highway 7 and 15. Thrift Shop hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. If you are looking for that remarkable thrift shop experience, then the Auxiliary Thrift Shop is your place to shop.
The Hutchinson Health Auxiliary Gift Shop is located in the lobby of the Hutchinson Health Hospital at 1095 Highway 15 S. The gift shop carries jewelry, clothing, cards and much more. Be sure to check it out if you are visiting the hospital or looking for that special gift.
On average, a volunteer spends four hours a month volunteering in an area. Volunteers have the option to spend more time volunteering if they would like. You also have the opportunity to help in one area or in multiple areas.
Our responsibility is to provide health care with great compassion and superb service. Yet providing exceptional health care is not enough.
At Hutchinson Health we are committed to enhancing the health and well-being of area residents. In keeping with this mission we continuously support our communities by investing time, talent, energy and resources into improving community health.
We do this in a number of ways.
- Each year, between 6% and 8% of Hutchinson Health’s expenses are considered “charity care”. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Providing care and writing off its cost for people who are unable to pay.
- Accepting Medicaid, which reimburses some but not all of the costs of the care we provide.
- Paying for services that benefit the community but for which there is no reimbursement.
- Regularly assessing the health needs of the community and planning the growth of services to meet these needs.
- Being an “Employer of Choice,” providing good pay and benefits, and a great work environment.
- Partnering with community organization to promote health education, awareness, wellness and healthy behavior.
- Encouraging our employees to be active participants in their communities.
We value the support we receive from the community and are committed to making a positive difference in this place we all call home.
